Support a Forever Family

Recently we learned about twenty-three children in a house in Freetown, who were without food and about to be evicted along with their caregiver. As we searched for a solution for them, we learned about the Child Prosperity Center, which is successfully reintegrating orphans and vulnerable children into families. They call this approach Family Empowerment Advocacy. The Child Prosperity Center traces the child’s biological family, assesses the family’s ability to care for the child, and provides family strengthening and microfinance support for a few months until the family is stable. If no biological relative is able to take care of the child, a foster family becomes that child’s forever family. Although this is difficult work, the Child Prosperity Center has an outstanding record of reintegrating children in families and excellent working relationships with government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

White Field Partners, along with Understanding Works, is launching a dedicated donor program to support the work of the Child Prosperity Center. We’ve seen the faces of those kids, and we know their names. Within a few months, it is possible that they will be learning to thrive with their biological or foster family. We can’t wait to see their faces when they are safely home.

Will you help get a child safely home?

For $50 per month, you can empower a family to provide a safe home to a vulnerable child. Your commitment is for a limited time, and it will help meet the physical, educational, medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of that child by strengthening the whole family. Case managers will work with the family to identify needs, provide training, and assess progress. Our dedicated donors make payments and receive updates through Helping Children Worldwide, which is allowing us to access their infrastructure and learn from their amazing work. You will receive updates as the family moves toward healthy self-sufficiency.
